I don't know if a change in the ios or bug, but it stopped working. Please update!!! It used to be great.

I was symbolically solving the system of equations x^2+y^2=r1 and (x-a)^2+(y-b)^2=r2 subtracting one from the other then expanding, collecting and solving for y then substituting and solving for x then the app froze solid and I had to remove it and reinstall it again losing all of my data. YIKES!!!!!!
The buttons are easy to press and the calculator works perfectly.
Solo desinstala la Emu50G del iPhone. Y vuelve a instalar desde el AppStore. La App funciona una maravilla. Excelente herramienta de trabajo. ☝️
After getting immediate feedback from the developer, I am able to transfer files via the web server without any problems. This is a great app and I look forward to seeing future enhancements. Great job!
Sadly, the web server interface for sharing program files is painfully slow. I could live with that, but this app does not share its directories in iTunes. I paid good money for this app and I need a way to easily bring my programs over to it. Please fix this serious issue and I will gladly rate it a 5. Thanks!
This is the best implementation of an HP calculator in the App Store. But it would be nice if there was some way to transfer an existing library from my real calculator over to this emulator. I’m loving the ease of input using the on-screen buttons, but pasting/copying to/from the stack doesn’t work except for numbers and some simple strings. Returns an error message instead. The internal file structure also seems to be inaccessible from outside the calculator environment so I/O is crippled there, too. Also the indicators showing the input mode are missing, like left-shift, right-shift and alpha. This needs some important finishing touches with input/output, but I’m still using it as my #1 go-to calculator even if I have to manually type in pages of programming to get the customizations right.
So far this is the best HP scientific graphing calculator available on iOS I’ve found. I haven’t had any problems with missing data input like another emulator had due to small tap zones. This has the full feature set versus another paid RPN calculator inspired by the HP48 but lacked the basic stack manipulation functions like picking a value from the stack. Sometimes there is a lag when I quickly enter values even with Authentic Speed turned on. I’m not sure if that’s a slowdown from emulation or if that’s how the calculator actually performed. All in all this is the app to purchase if you want a true HP graphing calculator on your iOS device. Reviewed on an iPhone 7 iOS 12.1.4.
I love this app, but I can’t load any program on the stack, please help me
Many thanks to the developer. Works just like my 50g PLUS now I have the ability to take my Emu/50g output and put it into notes, or after proper formatting, into Numbers via a CSV file. That's a big deal for my engineering project. I was also able to copy my physical 50g programs to the Emu via an iMac, SD card, and some networking tricks. I would have bought it much sooner if I had known how well it works. Would have saved me from purchasing a second HP 50g and a HP calculator printer from eBay - $200! I don't know of any engineering tool with the range and power of the 50g. Wonderful to have an iOS App for that. Also received prompt support. 12/8/2018.
I love the app. It works on my other devices no problem. I have the ipad pro 9.7 with the latest ios 10 update 10.32. It crashes when open closes down. Is there going to be another update available? Thank you
I'm sad that the latest update has killed this app I really loved using it for school and work. Then I learned that deleting and re-installing it has fixed it, so five stars from me!
Great app, but new version no longer shows up in iTunes list of apps with documents, so there's no way to load objects. Please fix!
The newest update had the app crashing upon startup. Deleting the app and re-downloading fixed this issue.
Latest version not working on new iOS
Loaded the latest update on a mini 2 with iOS 10.2.1. The calculator remains blank no matter which keys are pressed. Update: Deleted the app and downloaded again. Works now.
Opens and closes/crashes. Newest IOS on iPhone 6S. Fix it.
I have been using an HP50G at work and at home for years and have been using this app on my iphones and iPads through the iPhone 4, 5 & now the 7. There have been times when there were some minor issues particularly when using the conversion functions but presently I have zero problems with this app on my iPhone 7. It is one of my most used and favorite apps on my phone. If you love your HP50G you will love this app.
This is an awesome calculator and this or the HP 41cx can handle just about anything an engineer might throw at it. In the world of calculators there are at least two types: 1) those that try and emulate the original machine and 2) those that try to provide a tool in this environment that can assist the user without regard to emulation. HP, in my opinion, made the finest engineering tools that I have seen however there is a point where for utility's sake it's time to rethink the role of the calculator and create something even better. This calculator fits in category 1 down to replicating the terrible font rendering of the original. I love the wonderful type 1s but I want to see the same skill and design genius that gave us the originals applied toward a totally new tool. There is a need to move forward, making the tools easier to use, more powerful and more flexible. As I've said, this and one other are the excellent reproductions of the of the past and can do almost anything you commonly need to do but I would love to see some of the limitations of the originals addressed in totally new designs and versions that fix problems like monochrome printing and plotting on a low resolution, non-zoomable tiny screen. I run this on an iPhone 6 Plus and key response is instantaneous. Apple is throwing a screen up at launch of several apps that apparently need updating for speed purposes and this is one of them but I cannot see any sign of slowness. There is what appears to be denounce delay when rapidly hitting the same key more than once after itself. This can result in dropped repetitions of digits and slower scrolling of pop-up menus. It is still my first choice calculator as it has features that are essential for certain type calculations that I have not seen in any other computing application.
This app needs an update to deal with either IOS 10 lag or iPhone 7 lag. This app currently lags and misses keystrokes in the new environment. Loved the app until now.
Works great on my iPhone 6 Plus. Make sure you enable "authentic speed" setting to fix the slow typing problem.
I own an HP59g and have been using this app on my iPhone for about a week. It rapidly replaced the HP41 and HP15 apps as my go to calculator. Speed is entirely acceptable and I've had no problem with keyboard functionality. I'm very happy with this app.
I need a program call "Viga G" in the files of the app, next update???
I spent the money and wish I hadn't. Key stroke has a delay --- sometimes long delay. The worst problem is the app will freeze in an unusable state. The two scenarios I have frequently encountered is unable to load skin and nothing being displayed on the calculator. Only fix for the skin was to delete the app and reinstall. The other is having no screen display on the calculator itself. It's like having the calculator turned off. I can push buttons, get a beep. But nothing appears on the calculator display. Haven't been able to fix this by uninstalling. Yes you can turn this virtual calculator off-- no idea why you need this functionality. Haven't found an rpn on the iPhone I actually like.
I am used to my actual HP15C and I cannot get used to the key punch delay on this app. So much that I make simple arithmetic errors when helping kids with homework. It's kind of embarrassing actually.
Remember the HP49G+ keyboard? This app cannot keep up with your keyed entry. The app hangs every 20-30 seconds and is verrrrrrryyyyyyyy sllloooooowwwwwww. Look elsewhere (m48+) until the developer gets a lot of issues sorted out.
It works great - flawless emulation of the real thing at a fraction of the price. The skin is too small for an iPhone 4s, but quite usable on an iPhone 6 or ipad. Seems like debounce should be less agressive, but with a few milliseconds of patience it's fine. Wish the same dev would do a 48g series, which is a better laid out calculator for most things. But I cavil. My real 48gx died. I never have my 50g with me. My iPhone 6 is always in my pocket and this app provides answers to 1000 times as many problems as I'll ever need to solve, in familiar RPN form.
It is nearly impossible to press a key without fat-fingering. Having the skin look like the physical calculator is quaint but not practical. Please provide skins with bigger keys. Maybe have just a 4 level stack so the keys can be "taller".
This app is nicely done for ipad air considering that it is an emulation. I own an hp49g+ and I'm wondering if you can make a skin like it, whole size, it is basically the same thing as hp50g except the colors.
Absolute garbage. As if the developer scanned an image of the calc and then setup sound clicks for buttons. Hangs every 30 seconds and every button pushed just stays lit but does nothing. Apple should be ashamed of letting their customers be swindled of $10.
Don't waste your money. It won't even allow you to enter values. As mentioned before "it's junk"
I really like the way it resembles the real 50g. To previous 1 star reviewer: you have to enable RPN mode first, in order for "333 enter 17/" to work!
As a 50G user since 2006 was delighted to find this gem on the iTunes store. Preliminary tests show it's working great, like the "real" one, and a fairly long (about 10 kbyte) program I imported from the real one works perfect on this. Also fast startup time, nicely done graphics, and supports the "shift hold" type keyboard operation as well. Very nicely done!
This latest release has much better performance (the annoying delays after each click are gone), the buttons respond better, etc. If you're an old school RPN addict like me, this is the real thing! I'm running on an iPhone 5 with iOS 7. I did adjust KEYTIME in the previous release, so you might want to consider that (I have mine set to 500 in a global STARTUP file).
How do I copy programs that I use on my 50g every day to the emulator? I have them in .txt and .hp as well
Excellent apps - works well with my iPhone 5s, iPod 4th Gen and the original iPad!
I found it can't save calculator as a whole file as I can with the 48g emulator. This emulator only functions as the 50g so it's less significant. Yet saving skin, Rom, port RAM, all inclusive as the 48 emu dose; is better than archive file in port:1: . Perhaps I'm not doing it right.
Works great on my iPad first gen. On my iPhone 4s however, I see annoying intermittent flicker.
I have a crash Please fix it on iphone 4 with ios 6.0.1
Ignore the loader complaining about the the screen resolution... That's the way it's supposed to be! I am a senior in Electrical Engineering School & have been using this calculator for years.. Thank you for making this app the exact same layout as the actual calculator, it makes it usable for those who know how to use it.
I am very impressed with this emulator, with the exception of one problem. A line of hash will occasionally run through the display. This can be annoying. Otherwise 5 stars.
Very handy and works as it should!
Since the last update it works great!
Newest update works again. Biggest gripe: the Hp 50g had a horribly inadequate screen resolution. Hard to read and blocky. The developer REALLY didn't do us a favor copying that. Please give us the option of a hi-res display. Without a more readable display, the app is more nostalgic than useable.
This version of Jan 7, 2013 still crashes on iPhone 4S. Please fix it! Thanks!
I love my Hp 50g, this app is great! No more crashing, super Awesome!!
Great companion to my "real" 50g. "Winter Storm" offers great support.
Now working great on my iPhone5 and iPad mini. Love this app!
Was working great, but now it crashes every time I open it on iOS 6.0.1. Tried deleting and reinstalling but that didn't work. Please fix!
